“Last night’s result from Wisconsin confirms our worst fears: that our elections are becoming auctions. Scott Walker, the latest beneficiary of our loose campaign finance regulations, was elected with a 7 to 1 fundraising advantage, with half of his $30 million war chest coming from contributions outside of Wisconsin. If there’s one takeaway from this election, it is that we need real campaign finance reform in this country, and we need to elect leaders who have dedicated themselves to getting corporate money out of our electoral process.” -R.L
