Are you a crooked politician? Hit up Melinda Katz for a check.
Pundits, jokesters, and reporters are all rolling their eyes as another Queens Politician is headed to the slammer but that didn’t stop ambitious pols like Melinda Katz from contributing to State Senator Shirley Huntley’s reelection campaign.
She did what?
In August, Katz officially announced she will be running for Queens Borough President in 2013. According to her July campaign finance report, New Yorkers for Melinda Katz gave Huntley $500.00.
Huntley is accused of conspiring to help a niece and an aide steal money from a nonprofit agency which was supposed to help poor parents navigate the New York City school system.
Her opponent, City Councilman James Sanders said Huntley’s arrest speaks volumes about her character, but other pols haven’t quite realized bankrolling a corrupt politician also speaks volumes about THEIR character.
